THE THIRD ANNUAL ICON AWARDS: NOMINEES

Awards season is about to come to a close, but not before the biggest ceremony of them all. Cancel your Oscar’s viewing party, it’s all about the ICONs.

Now in its third prestigious year, the ICON Awards aim to celebrate the Blueprint’s favourite films of the year, rectify major voting bodies’ clear snubs, and honour the seemingly “silly” things that make the films we love what they are. Think of us as the happy medium between the Oscars and the MTV Movie awards.

This year we are also welcoming four exciting new categories: Best Animated Film, Best Kiss, Best Makeup and Hair, and Not Eligible But Really Hot, in pairing with our existing Most Eligible Boyfriend and Girlfriend categories.

The ICONs also award one individual with the coveted ICON of the Year award, to recognise their contribution to cinema and the world throughout this past year. The recipient will be revealed alongside all the winners tomorrow evening, just before the far less exciting Academy Awards.

Here are this year’s ICON Award Nominees.
