THE FOURTH ANNUAL ICON AWARD NOMINEES

Moira Rose’s favourite season is coming to a close, but not before the finest two awards shows celebrate another iconic year of cinema.

That’s right, the Academy Awards are this weekend – but of course they’re being overshadowed for the fourth year in a row by the only voting body that matters: the ICON Awards.

The ICON Awards were created not only to celebrate the Blueprint’s favourite films of the year; but also to bring justice to film excellence that was somehow missed from this season’s major awards ceremonies; as well as honouring the less prestigious elements of the past year in filmmaking that made us enjoy our film watching experience so much more.

Each year the ICONs also award the coveted ICON of the Year award, wherein one individual’s contribution to cinema and the world throughout this past year is recognised. This too will be announced alongside our winners next Sunday!

Here are the nominees for the 4th annual ICON Awards.
